1 Peter 1 (a)

I am hoping that if you read this short blog post, you will let me know that you did. You don't have to comment other than saying "I read it". I'd appreciate it. Bold verses are directly from the KJV Bible.

The book of 1 Peter – chapter by chapter and verse by verse

Peter 1:1-4 KJV (4 verses)

Peter means rock. Christ is the Rock of Salvation, the Rock of Ages. Christ called Peter “son of Bar-Jonah” which means son of the dove, signifying the Holy Spirit. Peter talks plain language with clarity.

1:1 Peter, an apostle of Jesus Christ, to the strangers scattered throughout Pontus, Galatia, Cappadocia, Asia, and Bithynia,

These groups are of the tribes and others.

2 Elect according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, through sanctification of the Spirit, unto obedience and sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ: Grace unto you, and peace, be multiplied.

The Elect aren’t better than everyone else, but they stood for God in the first earth age and they will always stand for Him. See Mark 13, Matthew 24, Luke 21.

3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,

The full Godhead mentioned in this verse.

4 To an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you,

This inheritance cannot be corrupted, changed, faked, stolen, or removed; and it will never fade. Meaning, you will never run out of it like you might an earthly inheritance.

It is reserved for those who obey God and accept Jesus as their Saviour.
