Jeremiah 5:22-31
KJV (9 verses)
Jeremiah chapter
5 – God wants us to Investigate!
23 But this
people hath a revolting and a rebellious heart; they are revolted and gone.
Gone into idolatry! Because they don’t know and refuse to learn.
That attitude is demonstrated around us every day of our lives! We watch
in amazement – but are we sure we are not contributing to the problem? Do your
children hear God’s word in your home on a regular basis? Do you and they
understand God’s nature? God certainly does not hide His Nature from us…. If we
only take the time to read His word.
24 Neither say
they in their heart, Let us now fear the LORD our God, that giveth rain, both
the former and the latter, in his season: he reserveth unto us the appointed
weeks of the harvest.
The 50 days between Passover and Pentecost are the reserved days of the
harvest here.
And think of it also spiritually, there is a harvest coming, we must
pray that there will be laborers sent into the harvest as Jesus told us to.
(Luke 10:2).
(Before He instructed us to pray the Lord’s Prayer, Jesus instructed us
to pray that laborers will be sent into God’s harvest.)
25 Your
iniquities have turned away these things, and your sins have withholden good
things from you.
You missed the harvest because you can’t see the truth. Sad! That’s
forever…. And you’re not going?
26 For among my
people are found wicked men: they lay wait, as he that setteth snares; they set
a trap, they catch men.
Satan and his wicked followers would love to trap you. You can avoid it
simply by knowing what the word of God says.
27 As a cage is
full of birds, so are their houses full of deceit: therefore they are become
great, and waxen rich.
28 They are
waxen fat, they shine: yea, they overpass the deeds of the wicked: they judge
not the cause, the cause of the fatherless, yet they prosper; and the right of
the needy do they not judge.
29 Shall I not visit
for these things? saith the LORD: shall not my soul be avenged on such a nation
as this?
The time of vengeance has not come yet, but it will, as Jesus tells us.
See Isaiah 61:1-2. When we hear Jesus speaking in the temple in Luke 4:17-21,
we see that He leaves out the day of vengeance from the Isaiah 61 verses that
He is quoting.
This is because when Jesus came to earth the first time it was to give
hope and salvation, but when He returns at the Second Advent it will be to pour
out the cup of wrath that God gave Jesus prior to the crucifixion. He returns
with vengeance – to pour out that cup of wrath on those who deserve it.
30 A wonderful
and horrible thing is committed in the land;
31 The prophets
prophesy falsely, and the priests bear rule by their means; and my people love
to have it so: and what will ye do in the end thereof?
We need to investigate! God sent us this letter to keep us out of
trouble – if we ignore it, we’re just stupid and deserve the end that we get.
Harsh words, but true.

Jeremiah 4:15-22 KJV
15 For a voice
declareth from Dan, and publisheth affliction from mount Ephraim.
They were the furthest north. Ezekiel 38 and 39 – don’t be misled about
the danger to the nations, it will come from the north.
16 Make ye
mention to the nations; behold, publish against Jerusalem, that watchers come
from a far country, and give out their voice against the cities of Judah.
The falseness and the false leadership that comes from other countries –
we know what countries are actually working against God. Don’t get snared in
the net of deception, know God’s word so you can be ready when you need to be
ready.
17 As keepers of
a field, are they against her round about; because she hath been rebellious
against me, saith the LORD.
God is not happy with the world situation, then or now. He’s saying we
aren’t keeping the field (the world) the way we should be, we rebel against His
authority. As we clearly see in our world governments, trying to take God’s
name out of everything! That does not please Him – and it ruins our world.
18 Thy way and
thy doings have procured these things unto thee; this is thy wickedness,
because it is bitter, because it reacheth unto thine heart.
Those who won’t listen have brought the wickedness to themselves, it
reaches into their hearts.
19 My bowels, my
bowels! I am pained at my very heart; my heart maketh a noise in me; I cannot
hold my peace, because thou hast heard, O my soul, the sound of the trumpet,
the alarm of war.
When we know, when we understand, we want to awaken those around us –
anybody who will listen – “there is a war coming, many will be destroyed, wake
up, wake up!”
We hear the alarm and can no longer be quiet.
20 Destruction
upon destruction is cried; for the whole land is spoiled: suddenly are my tents
spoiled, and my curtains in a moment.
Understand this, when Satan as antichrist comes to earth at the 6th
trumpet pretending to be Jesus and sitting on the mercy seat in the temple at
Jerusalem – at that time, suddenly, the temple is filthy and ruined.
Yes, Jesus will be coming soon after at the 7th trump, and will clean
house, but not before Satan as antichrist has fooled many people with his cries
of peace, peace, peace, and with his fly-away doctrine which is so untrue.
When Jesus comes and finds them spiritually “in bed” with Satan, and
nursing along Satan’s lies…(giving suck)… woe to those people! Don’t be fooled!
The antichrist will look good, but not to those who understand.
Once more I will say – don’t believe me, don’t believe any person –
until you read it for yourself! Don’t allow yourself to be fooled.
21 How long
shall I see the standard, and hear the sound of the trumpet?
The 6th trumpet being blown. Antichrist – 666. The 6th vial, the 6th
seal, the 6th trump.
Not a tattoo on our forehead, but a knowledge (seal) in our minds – what
not to be fooled by. See what God says about that in the next verse...
22 For my people
is foolish, they have not known me; they are sottish* children, and they have
none understanding: they are wise to do evil, but to do good they have no
knowledge.
(*sottish – from the Hebrew, means silly and foolish.)
Don’t be one of these people! Don’t be one who won’t know the One and
Only True God. They have no knowledge because they won’t read the letter that
God sent them.
They would rather listen to pastors and preachers who only share a tiny
bit of the actual word of God. If your church isn’t teaching you chapter by
chapter and verse by verse – why are you going to that church? The story is
simple, once we read and understand it. And the most important thing to our
lives, ever. More important than jobs, marriages, children, social lives – way
more important. Give yourself into it, is my advice.
One really neat thing is that there are mysteries that God reveals to
us, and we get so much peace. But He doesn’t reveal them to those who won’t
look for them –
(we will continue
with this lament for the miseries of Judah at end times in verse 23 very soon!)
