Jeremiah 4 (b)

The book of Jeremiah – chapter by chapter and verse by verse

Jeremiah 4:5-9 KJV

5 Declare ye in Judah, and publish in Jerusalem; and say, Blow ye the trumpet in the land: cry, gather together, and say, Assemble yourselves, and let us go into the defenced cities.

This is the 7th trump! We will go into the defenced cities and be with Jesus, and all evil will be wiped out.

It is written, it will come to pass.

6 Set up the standard toward Zion: retire, stay not: for I will bring evil from the north, and a great destruction.

The standard mentioned here is Christ.

Two separate wars, Hamangog for the northern tribes and Armageddon for the tribe of Judah.

God is fighting these wars, not us. Ezekiel 38 and 39.

7 The lion is come up from his thicket, and the destroyer of the Gentiles is on his way; he is gone forth from his place to make thy land desolate; and thy cities shall be laid waste, without an inhabitant.

The destroyer (the antichrist) will take over. There will be no Christians in that land.

8 For this gird you with sackcloth, lament and howl: for the fierce anger of the LORD is not turned back from us.

He is not angry at those who do their best to please Him, follow Him and trust in Him. He is angry at those who don’t care about Him. We who trust Him are not the objects of His anger, but those who deny Him are.

A great example of this is Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego – after they’d been thrown into the fire heated 7 times hotter than usual, Nebuchadnezzar looked into the furnace and said, “we threw 3 men into the furnace, but I see 4 men! One of them is the Son of God”.

Now listen up – their clothes and even their hair was not even singed by that fire!

At the end time, in fact, at any time – we do not have to worry if we are following and trusting Him.

9 And it shall come to pass at that day, saith the LORD, that the heart of the king shall perish, and the heart of the princes; and the priests shall be astonished, and the prophets shall wonder.

Speaking of the false kings, princes, priests and prophets. They will be so shocked.

(There is so much flavor and fantastic knowledge in these verses – and it continues into verse 10 and beyond! Be sure to come back and check out the rest of Jeremiah 4. Never forget that God speaks to us through His prophets…. and we just have to listen if we want the most blessed and peaceful lives – even when there is destruction happening all around us.)
